Worktop guide
How are granite worktop joints planned?
Joint positions depend on the layout, available slab or blank sizes, access and support. Discuss them with your fabricator at the planning stage; colour and pattern can make a joint more or less noticeable.
What to consider
- 01
Show every run, corner and island on the plan.
- 02
Discuss access to the kitchen and the maximum practical piece sizes.
- 03
Ask where joints and supports will sit in relation to cabinets, sinks and appliances.
- 04
Confirm how pattern direction and adjacent pieces will be arranged.
- 05
Review the joint layout before fabrication is agreed.
For cutting or fabrication, use a suitably equipped stone professional. Read HSE guidance on silica dust.
