Worktop guide
Can a granite worktop be cut to size?
Granite can be fabricated to fit a kitchen, but cutting changes the edge finish and requires appropriate equipment and dust controls. Our supply-only service is for the listed blanks; it does not include a cutting-to-length service.
What to consider
- 01
Start with the finished worktop dimensions and compare them with the available blank sizes.
- 02
Mark which edges will be exposed and which will meet a wall or another piece.
- 03
Ask your fabricator to confirm that the required cuts and edge finish are practical before buying.
- 04
Agree support, handling and dust-control arrangements with the person undertaking the work.
- 05
For worktops templated, cut and fitted by us, use the bespoke supply-and-fit route.
Cutting or grinding stone can release hazardous silica dust. This planning guide is not a cutting procedure; follow the appropriate HSE guidance and equipment instructions.
For cutting or fabrication, use a suitably equipped stone professional. Read HSE guidance on silica dust.
