Worktop guide

How heavy is a granite worktop?

A granite blank is a substantial load. Its weight depends on the dimensions and the stone, so use the estimated weight on the product listing as a starting point and confirm the actual pieces before planning collection.

What to consider

  1. 01

Write down the dimensions and quantity of every blank you are collecting.

  2. 02

Check the estimated weights on our collection page. Allow for the complete load, including other equipment in the vehicle.

  3. 03

Confirm the vehicle's payload, load space and suitable restraints with the vehicle provider or transporter.

  4. 04

Arrange appropriate handling equipment and access at both collection and the destination. A fixed number of people is not a safe-lifting rule.

  5. 05

Contact us before travelling to confirm your collection arrangements.

Do not book transport on length alone. Weight, support, securement and access all need to be considered.

For cutting or fabrication, use a suitably equipped stone professional. Read HSE guidance on silica dust.
